Out This Week In YA (5):

Every week there is another new release, so why not highlight them? This week there have been some great releases, these are some that I am most excited for:

The Weight of Souls
Title: The Weight of Souls
Author: Bryony Pearce
Release: August 6, 2013
Sixteen year old Taylor Oh is cursed: if she is touched by the ghost of a murder victim then they pass a mark beneath her skin. She has three weeks to find their murderer and pass the mark to them – letting justice take place and sending them into the Darkness. And if she doesn’t make it in time? The Darkness will come for her…
She spends her life trying to avoid ghosts, make it through school where she’s bullied by popular Justin and his cronies, keep her one remaining friend, and persuade her father that this is real and that she’s not going crazy.
But then Justin is murdered and everything gets a whole lot worse. Justin doesn’t know who killed him, so there’s no obvious person for Taylor to go after. The clues she has lead her to the V Club, a vicious secret society at her school where no one is allowed to leave… and where Justin was dared to do the stunt which led to his death.
Can she find out who was responsible for his murder before the Darkness comes for her? Can she put aside her hatred for her former bully to truly help him?

And what happens if she starts to fall for him?
I actually just heard about this book while looking through goodreads, so I don't know too much about it. I'm not too intrigued by the summery, it's not exactly what I am looking for in a read.

When the Stars Threw Down Their Spears (The Goblin Wars, #3)

Title: The Weight of Souls
Author: Bryony Pearce
Release: August 6, 2013

“People will die.”
Locked doors are opening, and uncanny creatures are tumbling through mysterious portals from Mag Mell, the world-between-worlds, into the streets of Chicago. The Dark Man has marked Aiden with a new song that’s scared him badly, and a frightening new group of sídhe is lurking nearby.
Teagan knows this is war, and she must protect her family. She leaves her flesh and bones behind to join Finn in hunting the evil beings across the city. Meanwhile, their relationship is heating up—almost faster than they can control. But he is still bound to fight goblins his entire life . . . and by blood she is one of them now.
Then the gateway to Mag Mell cracks open again, and the Wylltsons find themselves caught in a trap. As her loved ones begin to die, Teagan realizes that she must destroy the Dark Man and his minions once and for all in order to save those who remain . . .
. . . before it is too late.
Ahhh well I read Tyger Tyger and really enjoyed it, but I have yet to read the second and now this one. I enjoyed what I read, but I never felt the urge to continue on. But I must say this final battle sounds like it's going to be a good one!

Wise Young FoolTitle: Wise Young Fool
Author: Sean Beaudoin
Release: August 6, 2013
Teen rocker Ritchie Sudden is pretty sure his life has just jumped the shark. Except he hates being called a teen, his band doesn't play rock, and "jumping the shark" is yet another dumb cliché. Part of Ritchie wants to drop everything and walk away. Especially the part that's serving ninety days in a juvenile detention center.

Telling the story of the year leading up to his arrest, Ritchie grabs readers by the throat before (politely) inviting them along for the (max-speed) ride. A battle of the bands looms. Dad split about five minutes before Mom's girlfriend moved in. There's the matter of trying to score with the dangerously hot Ravenna Woods while avoiding the dangerously huge Spence Proffer--not to mention just trying to forget what his sister, Beth, said the week before she died.
This latest offering from acclaimed author Sean Beaudoin is alternately raw, razor-sharp, and genuinely hilarious.
CONTEMP!! :D That too a humorous piece is one that I am definitely looking forward too. I've met Sean Beaudoin and I must say he is definitely interesting to talk to. If his writing is anything like his personality I am definitely looking forward to reading Wise Young Fool!

And there you have it!
Which of these new releases are you most excited for?
Feel free to sound off in the comments. :)
