Review: Origin (Lux #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Origin (Lux, #4)
Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.
After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.
All Katy can do is survive.
Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?
Together, they can face anything.

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?

And will they even be together?
Jennifer L. Armentrout has done it again; she has released another nail biting, edge of your seat, hair raising book. I swear I never thought she would come out with a book even better than her last, and well I have been proved wrong!

The fourth novel of the Lux series continues right after the events of Opal. If you haven't read the previous books, please skip over the rest of this paragraph so you avoid spoilers. With Katy being stuck in Daedalus and Daemon away from her, both hybrid and luxen are trying to figure out a way to get back together and fight against Daedalus. Let's just say life has gotten complicated for the two.

As a die hard JLA fan, and as a Daemon lover, I obviously loved this book. A bit more than I should have because now I need Opposition like now. JLA used the alternating point of view (well most of the time) for Opal, and honestly I like it more than just one POV. Getting both sides of similar time periods or scenes allowed me, as a reader, to enjoy the book completely. There is a better understand for the scene, the story and the characters. Well I also liked hearing Daemon's thoughts, because I mean what girl doesn't want to hear a guys point of view, that too about a girl he loves?

This is the novel where new characters are introduced but the old ones aren't forgotten. Alongside Dawson, Dee, Beth, and Luc we now have Archer, the people of Daedalus, and Paris (I love Paris)! And I definitely enjoyed the new characters especially Archer (who was my Special Someone last week) and Paris; oh and bringing back Luc was all sorts of brilliant. I'm a sucker for sarcasm, humor, even if it's dark, and well all the characters brought in the funny moments in the right exact spots. They were the little sprinkles of spice in any scene that needed it. JLA is fantastic with including humor in her novels, and yet again she did a flawless job implementing it.

I LOVE Daemon, I mean come on, he is like a dream guy. I have gushed over him in the previous books of the series, but oh my this one. This book had so many twists I didn't expect, and well I fell for Daemon even more *this is not going to do any good for my (nonexistent) love life*! But those twists, moments, and that cliffhanger of an ending basically killed me! My little fangirl heart just couldn't cope. I was up all night reading, I had moments where I was giggling and the next I was in total shock... I loved it!

I definitely ADORED Origin and well can't wait for Opposition. So if you haven't read it, READ IT NOW! If you haven't read the series READ IT NOW! This is one series that you don't want to miss out on. It has the sci-fi, romance, and action all compacted into one. Definitely a favorite read for 2013 thus far!
