Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Onyx (Lux, #2)

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…
Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.
Something worse than the Arum has come to town…
The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.
But then everything changes…
I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?
No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

After reading Obsidian earlier this year, later then everyone else, I fell in love with JLA's new story. Katy and Daemon *swoons* are THE PERFECT CHARACTERS. I grew to love Onyx way more than Obsidian. The story started right where we left off, in Obsidian. Katy and Daemon are rocking that steamy relationship after they realized they are connected.

The relationship for one, was one of THE BEST couples made ever. I have a girl crush on Katy. She keeps on blogging, well sorta...remember her laptop blew up ;D, and she keeps herself away from Daemon. More like she tries, but she stays true to who she is and keeps up the whole independent women thing. And then there is Daemon, sweet, sweet Daemon. As hot as ever, and man Daemon jealous is the funniest thing ever.

With the new guy in town and the distraction romance between Katy and the new guy, who Daemon purposely calls the wrong name, Daemon is jealous. There were more character interactions for sure in Onyx. We got to really discover Daemon and his whole back story, with his brother, and the Arum.

Not spoiling this review is hard, because I want to say so much but I might actually ruin Obsidian for those who have no read the godly book. I had grammar and editing issues with Obsidian, this time Onyx was PERFECT. It could not have been any better, well other than be longer. Once you stop reading you NEED more, I ended up freezing in shock. I can not wait for the next installment in the Lux series, and once again JLA has succeeded in writing a fantastic novel! This book deserves a 5/5 for all it's worth!

  1. i just finished this last night and really liked it. i did annoyed with katy a bit though since she kept insisting that daemon wasn't really into her, but anyways. it's always fun visiting these characters.
