Review of Divergent

Divergent (Divergent, #1)

The Summary (Goodreads)
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

Debut author Veronica Roth bursts onto the literary scene with the first book in the Divergent series—dystopian thrillers filled with electrifying decisions, heartbreaking betrayals, stunning consequences, and unexpected romance.

My Review

I have one word for this book.....Phenomenal! I Loved it so much i read it in under 4 hours :D, and i don't read that fast unless i love the book. Yeah i just had to get that out, now to the real review ;)!

There has been great reviews for this book, and for the longest time i have been trying to get it, and well yesterday i got it and read it, and it blew me away. The book itself was so complex and action packed, that any Hunger Games or Harry Potter fan will adore this book. The Characters were developed, and well- they grew in a sense. Since i don't want to ruin the novel too much ;) I won't go into detail how everyone changes.

Beatrice, later Tris, is this scrawny little sixteen year old who ends up going into Dauntless (aka the place where all the strong brave people are). But over time she becomes a leader, and a survivor. The strong female role really was great for the book, it showed that men aren't the only ones who can kick some major butt ( literally...just read and see). The other characters were great. Some kinda scared me, but other's were down right hilarious. The book had those great comic moments that lighten the mood, so you didn't feel down right depressed while reading, Each character was so unique and so different, the factions they came from were also so well developed. Veronica Roth was able to create a Dystopia that felt so realistic, and vivid, it was amazing...at time's i felt like i wasn't even reading, IT'S THAT GOOD!

But here's the deal there is more than just Tris in the book, much more! there is the amazing, smoking hot, sweet , quiet, yet stern FOUR! He is amazing! Tris's trainer in Dauntless and let's just say there is a lot more to him then i can say right here in the Review. He is so dreamy. Right from the start, he may act like that stern, 'mean', protector, but OMG as the book goes on he is so much more! Just think hot bod of a fighter, Intelligence, and he thinks about others way before himself...really who wouldn't want him!?! He is just so perfect...if someone actually finds him, PLEASE bring him to me! thanks ! He is just so perfect!

Veronica Roth created this amazing world, and let's just say i need Insurgent (book 2) Now! If you haven't read it, you are not doing yourself a favor, you must read it before i come and stalk you down since you haven't. So go and get this book asap! It's way beyond worth it ! Oh yea...rating... 6/5 hands down ;) if not realistically 5/5 for sure ! :D Yea so what are you waiting for...go and get it !! :D
