Hey everyone!
It's me, Ishita! So today I am doing If Only... though usually Zareen is the one who does this post. I have Orientation (for college!!) this week and so I won't be able to work on my other post because of that *poop* it's okay though; Zareen's got that under control ;). So without further ado...
If only Inception were a book!
Haven't seen or heard of the movie? Here's a taste:
Dom Cobb is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb's rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible-inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming.
The last time I watched Inception was a month or two ago, so it's still pretty fresh...but then again I have seen it almost 10 times (I get bored often, so why not) so I know the movie pretty well. This movie is what I would call "trippy," no joke. It is pretty confusing but basically it's this amazing sci fi where someone could go with a dream and in a sense control people.
But with the knowledge of doing so there is a price that one has to pay...their sanity. This is the perfect plot line for a great thriller sci-fi. A book to keep you up, and make you think. Though the movie follows a certain format, the book can always be more interactive so it feels like you are really jumping into the dreams. This book if placed into the first person could make one great story.
As a bonus it could easily become a series as well! Using each character who is part of the dream delving experience. I could definitely see that happening. *Starts plotting writing ideas*
With the variety of characters, plus as a sci-fi thriller Inception would make a great fast paced book, something which isn't too common in YA. And in this book the romance wouldn't be front and center which would be refreshing! *GAHHH THIS SHOULD BE A BOOK* #wishfulthinking
Well, you readwhat I wanted to say; now what do you think?
Feel free to sound off in the comments.
Tune in next week for another edition of If Only...!
