Blogger Birthday Bash: Interview- Kathleen Peacock

Well hello there everyone!
Today is another day of My May Birthday Bash! And today we are celebrating HEmlock by Kathleen Peacock! Hemlock had it's birthday yesterday on May 8th! So if you have not grabbed a copy of Hemlock yet you must get one as soon as possible! You won't regret it!  Remember to comment so you get an entry in the giveaway!

Hemlock (Hemlock, #1)
What is your favorite book of all time?
That depends on the day of the week, my overall mood, and whatever I had for breakfast that morning. Two days out of every twelve, the answer is Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman.

What makes your book so different from all the books out there?
I hope what sets Hemlock apart is the focus on the characters and the way it blends different genres. It’s obviously a werewolf story, but it’s also part mystery and part ghost story. The heart of the story, though, is the friendship between the characters and the secrets people keep from each other.
Are you currently working on anything new? If so can we get a clue on what it is ;D?
Hemlock is the first book in a trilogy and the other books are keeping me pretty busy.
What is your writing atmosphere like?
Honestly? A complete mess. I’m horribly disorganized. I’ve got a desk and a few dry erase boards and a bunch of silly little action figures (Enid from Ghostworld, Stitch from Lilo and Stitch, Sirius Black, etc) watching over the whole setup.
What is the best part about having your book released in May?
The weather is not too cool and not too warm.

About Hemlock

Mackenzie and Amy were best friends. Until Amy was brutally murdered.
Since then, Mac’s life has been turned upside down. She is being haunted by Amy in her dreams, and an extremist group called the Trackers has come to Mac’s hometown of Hemlock to hunt down Amy’s killer: A white werewolf.
Lupine syndrome—also known as the werewolf virus—is on the rise across the country. Many of the infected try to hide their symptoms, but bloodlust is not easy to control.
Wanting desperately to put an end to her nightmares, Mac decides to investigate Amy’s murder herself. She discovers secrets lurking in the shadows of Hemlock, secrets about Amy’s boyfriend, Jason, her good pal Kyle, and especially her late best friend. Mac is thrown into a maelstrom of violence and betrayal that puts her life at risk.
About Kathleen
Kathleen spent most of her teen years writing short stories. She put her writing dreams on hold while attending college but rediscovered them when office life started leaving her with an allergy to cubicles.
Hemlock, her first novel, will be released on May 8th by Katherine Tegen Books/HarperCollins

  7. I've heard so many great things about Hemlock. Plus I love me a good werewolf story, & I too prefer print books to e-books. Added to my "to-read" list. =)
