Review: Audition by Stasia Ward Kehoe

When high school junior Sara wins a coveted scholarship to study ballet, she must sacrifice everything for her new life as a professional dancer-in-training. Living in a strange city with a host family, she's deeply lonely-until she falls into the arms of Remington, a choreographer in his early twenties. At first, she loves being Rem's muse, but as she discovers a surprising passion for writing, she begins to question whether she's chosen the right path. Is Rem using her, or is it the other way around? And is dancing still her dream, or does she need something more? This debut novel in verse is as intense and romantic as it is eloquent.

Review : The Veil by Corey Putnam Oaks

Seventeen-year-old Addison Russell is in for a shock when she discovers that she can see the invisible world of the Annorasi. Suddenly, nothing is as it appears to be -- the house she lives in, the woman who raised her, even the most beautiful boy in town all turn out to be more than what they seem. And when this strange new world forces Addy to answer for a crime that was committed long ago, by parents she has never known, she has no choice but to trust Luc, the mysterious Annorasi who has been sent to protect her. Or so he says . . .

Review: Glow by Amy Kathleen Ryan

What if you were bound for a new world, about to pledge your life to someone you'd been promised to since birth, and one unexpected violent attack made survival—not love—the issue?
Out in the murky nebula lurks an unseen enemy: the New Horizon. On its way to populate a distant planet in the wake of Earth's collapse, the ship's crew has been unable to conceive a generation to continue its mission. They need young girls desperately, or their zealous leader's efforts will fail. Onboard their sister ship, the Empyrean, the unsuspecting families don't know an attack is being mounted that could claim the most important among them...
Fifteen-year-old Waverly is part of the first generation to be successfully conceived in deep space; she was born on the Empyrean, and the large farming vessel is all she knows. Her concerns are those of any teenager—until Kieran Alden proposes to her. The handsome captain-to-be has everything Waverly could ever want in a husband, and with the pressure to start having children, everyone is sure he's the best choice. Except for Waverly, who wants more from life than marriage—and is secretly intrigued by the shy, darkly brilliant Seth.
But when the Empyrean faces sudden attack by their assumed allies, they quickly find out that the enemies aren't all from the outside.

Review: Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Half-Blood (Covenant, #1)
The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1: Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

Blog Tour Stop for the Broken Destiny and Author Interview

Here is an Interview with the Author ! Plus there is also a contest at the end of the Interview ! :D

So I have one really important question… How do you pronounce your last name? I have no idea and I really don’t want to mess it up when I say it in my IMMs or other vlogs.
wow its a difficult one :  Lu - boo - sh-k-u - g - ni,Hope that helps, its difficult because I’m Afrikaans and our pronunciations are difficult to translate , but I hope that helps.

Did living in South Africa inspire your book any way? And if so what, so we can all look for it when we read it.  :D (What are some other inspirations?)
Oh most definitely. Let’s just say I have brought South Africa and elements of the Zulu culture to Planet Poseidon ,  and as I grew up in the Apartheid era , I would love for people to find that element where race does not matter, or species for that matter( LOL) If you breathe you deserve love . But most importantly love and believe in one's self. Working together is the only way to beat a common enemy.

Follow Friday #7

Follow My Book Blog Friday is a blog hop hosted by the lovely ladies at Parajunkee & Alison Can Read.
The purpose is to meet and follow new bloggers in the online community.

Hey guys I am finally getting back to a Follow Friday !!!

Question: What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books? Maybe you don't like love triangles or thin plots? Tell us about it!

My biggest Pet Peeve...ooo that is a hard one! I have SO MANY! My biggest would have to be the "YES" girl. You know that heroine who falls in love with the amazing guy, and will do anything for him. Literally like EVERYTHING! The ones who are willing to jump off a cliff for them! We need more dominant and strong females...hey they can fall in love ( I mean I Love me some hot guys ;D )...But when it is too much and that is all they think about, is over done. We need more leading females like Emerson from Hourglass or Izzy from Mortal Instruments...you know the girls who can stand up and still be charming.

This was my Follow Friday and my Pet Peeve! Leave me comments to yours, I so want to know :D !

Untraceable Launch and Author Interview and Giveaway !

CLOSED

Hey Guys ! Today Untraceable by S.R. Johannes releases! I was lucky enough to be part of this launch, and even more so I got the chance to interview Mrs. Johannes! Here is a sneak preview of the book!y

16 year old Grace has lived in the Smokies all her life, patrolling with her forest ranger father who taught her about wildlife, tracking, and wilderness survival.
When her dad goes missing on a routine patrol, Grace refuses to believe he’s dead and fights the town authorities, tribal officials, and nature to find him.
One day, while out tracking clues, Grace is rescued from danger by Mo, a hot guy with an intoxicating accent and a secret. As her feelings between him and her ex-boyfriend get muddled, Grace travels deep into the wilderness to escape and find her father.
Along the way, Grace learns terrible secrets that sever relationships and lives. Soon she’s enmeshed in a web of conspiracy, deception, and murder. And it’s going to take a lot more than a compass and a motorcycle (named Lucifer) for this kick-butting heroine to save everything she loves.

So that was a little blurb on the book here is some inside scoop I got !

I:  Your book sounds intriguing and I can't wait till I can get my hands on it! What actually gave you the idea of setting the novel in a wilderness setting, and that to a contemporary novel?
SRJ: I loved James Patterson as a teen. I used to sneak my mom’s books and read them late at night. So I always wanted to be James Patterson for kids writing thrillers. My hubby came home from camping one weekend and said, “I was so deep in the woods. Someone could do anything and easily get away with it. That sparked my idea and it grew from there.
I:  When you were writing Untraceable where did you find the most inspiration to write? What was your cozy corner on this planet ;) ?
SRJ: I’m a mom so I don’t have time to get inspired. I write when I can in my office amidst all the bills, toys, and books. J
I: So there are not one but TWO hot guys in your book! I think everyone is curious about them...So Tell us more! (and pictures please if you have any)
SRJ: Mo is a wilderness buff just like Grace. He knows his way around the woods. He’s sexy and mysterious and…he treats Grace very well. Tells her exactly how he feels. No games. Imagine that J
Wyn on the other hand is her ex and long time best friend. He is anti nature. He’s the friend who grows on you. He loves Grace but still has a hard time getting to the point. He doesn’t want to lose their friendship.
I:  If you had to make a book playlist of songs, what are some songs you would have on the playlist?
SRJ:Grace by U2
Time is Running Out by Muse
Somewhere Only we Know - Keane
I:   In Untraceable what are some things we should be looking forward too ?
SRJ: In addition to twists and turns, I think you will walk away learning something that will break your heart and that will always be with you.
I: In three words how would you describe grace?
SRJ: Natural
        Snarky
        Tough
RAPID FIRE ROUND !!! :D
I: If you could have only 5 things with you when stranded on a deserted island what would you take  ?
SRJ: My family (1 hubby and 2 small kids )
          Food
         Water
         A book

It’s all I need :D

I: Favorite food?
SRJ:Mexican Cheese dip and chips
I: Do you like chocolate ?
SRJ: Duh! Yes. The darker the better. My fav is Ghirardelli Pomegranate squares but they don’t make them much L
I: If you could live underwater would you?
SRJ: Heck no! I’m scared of what else lives there too. I prefer land unless there is none. Then can I choose a ship?
I: Coke or Pepsi?
SRJ: I don’t really drink soda. If I did, it would be Coke Zero. But sweet ice tea is my downfall.
I: Writing or reading?
SRJ: Writing. It makes me happy.
I: And lastly: Inspirations to become an author?
SRJ: To leave a mark on this earth.
And Time for the Giveaway!
One lucky winner will receive an e-book edition of Untraceable! I will buy one lucky winner a copy! And you don't even need an e-reader to read it! You can get the kindle app for your computer, or phone and many tablets and phones have apps !

Review of Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick

Silence (Hush, Hush, #3)

The noise between Patch and Nora is gone. They've overcome the secrets riddled in Patch's dark past...bridged two irreconcilable worlds...faced heart-wrenching tests of betrayal, loyalty and trust...and all for a love that will transcend the boundary between heaven and earth. Armed with nothing but their absolute faith in one another, Patch and Nora enter a desperate fight to stop a villain who holds the power to shatter everything they've worked for—and their love—forever

*sorry for not posting reviews guys! School  has been crazy! I read Silence almost 4 weeks ago, so I got pretty behind :P..and the review :

All I have to say it "EEEEEEEEP" ! Becca Fitzpatrick has done it again! The third installment in the Hush Hush saga was a success...well for the most part.
After reading Hush Hush and Crescendo, Silence fell for me. Don't get me wrong it was amazing and the story kept you clinging on  to the book, but I felt like I needed more. While reading my hand was still held out and I was grasping onto nothing but thin air. I think it was my lack of Patch. I was deprived Patch ! (as you can tell I am going to the hot guy first...well because Patch deserves that much). If you have read the other books most will agree with me Patch is a bundle of hot sexiness. And when you have been exposed to so much Patch, then it's taken away from you...you have withdrawals (well I do at least). But even though through most of the book I didn't have him, the last 100 pages covered a lot of ground.
Those Last pages fixed the whole book for me. They grasped you, and the story actually made more sense. Till that point you might be a bit confused about what's going on...or you might totally forget Patch's real name is Jev - Like I did (oops).  But it gets so interesting, like it will impossible to put the book down. I just love Becca's writing style so reading even the boring parts, made me all happy.
Overall Silence was amazing, it had a great plot, and while reading you are just yearning for the next book. Once you finish your face will look like this -> :O ! It has great scenes, good plot, and amazing writing style....Oh and a bad ass guy ;) ! And on that note I would give this book a 4.5 just because it gets slow in the middle but it picks back up! SO go and read this now !!!

Special Someone Saturday ! #7

Hey guys!
This was a tough week for me, and because of that I found the inspiration for this weeks question !
Who is the toughest character you have ever discovered? It can be mentally, physically, or emotionally. what made them so special?
One of the toughest characters I have ever read about/ discovered has to be Matisse Osgood from Alive and Well in Prague, New York by Daphne Grab. Matisse has a pretty tough life if I say so myself. Her dad has Parkinson's Disease, her mom is basically depressed, and Matisse has to move Prague, New York - leaving behind her whole life. And she may seem stressed with her parents, but she held it all together the whole year! And she finally broke, but it was good for her. I can relate to Matisse so much, it's not even funny. Matisse is a great character and the book is amazing ! So this was my special someone this week! Who is yours ? Just create a post, a tweet(s), and just put it in the Linky or in the comments below !

Special Someone Saturday ! #6

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Hey Guys ! So I kinda forgot about Special Someone Saturday Yesterday....oops! So to make it up
we have a fun question this week! Sorry for skipping out, my weeks have been pretty hectic, with school so no more excuses and time for the question!
You were just given the wish to take one Book character out of the Book, and place them in your life....Who would be that character, and what role would they play in your life?
So you all might be wondering who I would bring out into the real world...Right?
Well I would bring Juliette from Shatter Me into my world! Being a total Bad-ass, and being smart is one of my favorite things about her. Ever since my best friend/ soul sister moved away I totally feel Juliette would be an amazing sister. So she would totally be my sister if Icould bring her to me :)

So here is this weeks question!!! Answer and put the link to your post in Mr. Linky down below !  And I would love comments with your opinions ! :)

Review: Wither by Lauren DeStefano

By age sixteen, Rhine Ellery has four years left to live. She can thank modern science for this genetic time bomb. A botched effort to create a perfect race has left all males with a lifespan of 25 years, and females with a lifespan of 20 years. Geneticists are seeking a miracle antidote to restore the human race, desperate orphans crowd the population, crime and poverty have skyrocketed, and young girls are being kidnapped and sold as polygamous brides to bear more children. When Rhine is kidnapped and sold as a bride, she vows to do all she can to escape. Her husband, Linden, is hopelessly in love with her, and Rhine can’t bring herself to hate him as much as she’d like to. He opens her to a magical world of wealth and illusion she never thought existed, and it almost makes it possible to ignore the clock ticking away her short life. But Rhine quickly learns that not everything in her new husband’s strange world is what it seems. Her father-in-law, an eccentric doctor bent on finding the antidote, is hoarding corpses in the basement. Her fellow sister wives are to be trusted one day and feared the next, and Rhine is desperate to communicate to her twin brother that she is safe and alive. Will Rhine be able to escape--before her time runs out?

Together with one of Linden's servants, Gabriel, Rhine attempts to escape just before her seventeenth birthday. But in a world that continues to spiral into anarchy, is there any hope for freedom?

Review of Dumpling Days

There was no day that dumplings couldn't make better.
Pacy is back! The beloved heroine of The Year of the Dog and The Year of the Rat has returned in a brand new story. This summer, Pacy's family is going to Taiwan for an entire month to visit family and prepare for their grandmother's 60th birthday celebration. Pacy's parents have signed her up for a Chinese painting class, and at first she's excited. This is a new way to explore her art talent! But everything about the trip is harder than she thought it would be—she looks like everyone else but can't speak the language, she has trouble following the art teacher's instructions, and it's difficult to make friends in her class. At least the dumplings are delicious...
As the month passes by, Pacy eats chicken feet (by accident!), gets blessed by a fortune teller, searches for her true identity, and grows closer to those who matter most.
This book was so adorable! having not read a Middle-grade book in a while, I had lots of fun reading Dumpling Days. Pacy is on a trip to Taiwan, and well her sisters and her are not very excited. Being a traveler myself I felt jealous Pacy was getting to go (I really want to go to Taiwan) ! So reading this book, you get really great insights of a person traveling for the first time! I loved being a 12 year old girl again (the good o'l days) and the experiences! This book just brings back so many memories, and is just a very fun read. If you had to pick out a middle grade book out, pick this one in January!
One of my favorite parts were the pictures. The little pictures on the side expressed Pacy's imagination so well, but they also just gave a visual to all the great things she has seen on her trip. There are a couple pages where she talks about dumplings, well more than a couple...and well that inspired me to make some for myself! Delicious by the way, and so much variety !
So if you are in the mood for a middle grade read, you try this out ! It is cute, funny, and I just love getting sent back 4 years to the good old days :D This book would get a 4.5/5 for me :). It is truly an inspiring, funny, and adorable ( i don't think that is the right word, but anyways only one I can think of) book, and people of all ages will love it ! Especially if you like witty humor, and awesome pictures :D

Giving Thanks for Good Books

Beth Revis, the amazing author of Across the Universe, and now the upcoming A Million Suns, is hosting a fantabulous giveaway! All you need to do is create a post of what book(s) you are most thankful for! My entry is right blow this picture !

There are so many books I completely love! And even if I don't love a book, I still am thankful to be lucky enough to read it! If I had to pick one book that I must give thanks to, it has to be

The Amelia Bedelia books by Peggy Parish

It may be a children's book, but they started it all. These are my first chapter books that first got me into reading at the age of three. Amelia Bedelia was a my childhood, and were the seeds to my later blooming literary addiction!

Special Someone #5

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Hey guys! Sorry for such a late Special Somone Saturday Post, this week has been crazy! But without further  delay...Here it is !

If you could go on a Date with any character, girl or guy- it could be a girls night out or a romantic date if you want...who would you want to hang out with? And what would you do?
So, I have been wondering what others would say...but being the cheesy teenager, that I am - I would go out on a date with Cricket Bell <3 from Lola and the Boy Next Door ! We would go out to the park and have a picnic! I LOVE PICNICS ! They are so adorable, and to go on a picnic date with Cricket would be just amazing, a story come true. And  on this picnic we are going to take a long walk and play with a Frisbee lol :D !

So Cricket is my Special Someone this week! Who is yours ? leave comments below with links or who your special someone would be ! :D

Follow Friday #5

Follow My Book Blog Friday is a blog hop hosted by the lovely ladies at Parajunkee & Alison Can Read.
The purpose is to meet and follow new bloggers in the online community.
Q. If you could have dinner with your favorite book character, who would you eat with and what would you serve?
Sooo, thinking about all the fictional boyfriends I have ;) , I would die to eat lunch, with one of my newest additions....Noah Shaw from the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer...aka Noah Freaking Shaw (in my head). A dinner date with him put send me straight to heaven! And what would we eat!...We eat everything! His father is a millionaire, so the cost of food won't matter! Though I love fancy food, I prefer a relaxing dinner on a couch eating take out Chinese (Kung Pow Chicken :D ) , and watching old movies! That would be so much fun ! :D

So who would you eat out with? And what would you eat? Leave comments with links to your answer so I can check out your answer! and If you are a new follower tell me, so i can follow back ! :D

Pick a Button any Button!

Hey guys ! So Roshini over at Bookish Delights and I need a Humongous favor. Roshini had this idea for a mermaid based event after reading Of Poseidon and noticed how mermaid obsessed I was as well. We got together and decided to plan an event called Mermaid Obsessed sometime in November. We need your help in choosing a button though, cause I made one and she made one, so yeah.

I need you guys to answer the poll. That's all! Thanks sooo much for helping!
The mostly blue one is by mine and the one on the right of the screen with the mermaid reading and stuff is  Roshini's.

Special Someone Saturday ! #4

Hey Guy's! This is our 4th Special Someone Saturday!!! :D
Here was the Question:
"Who's your favorite baddie character? Who's the villain that you love to hate or hate to love?
OH YES!!! Aeicha I love this question! :D Now I can totally talk about some Bad ass Characters....I have a "Gajillion" Bad Boys I want to talk about, I don't know that's many "baddie" females though...so I go with Bad Boy !! :D This week I pick Jack Dandy from The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross. So Jack Dandy *swoon* , if I dare say so, I love more than Griff! In The Girl in the Steel Corset Jack Dandy is the sophisticated, charming, and the one guy that everyone stays weary of. Though he is one of the most respected, I guess, he is respected for all things dark. While reading he basically had me on a spell, he has a way with capturing you ( but he seemed so sweet to with Finley.....but that is not part of this). He is your total,  Dark, Handsome, Sexy, Smart British guy, and well, he has to be my favorite baddie (whom I like not hate) as of now.
And the villain I hate the most at the moment has to be Sebastian from The Mortal Instruments. He is pure evil (the demon in him) but who can stoop that low! Gahhhh I hate him! He is just bleh, of all things. First he kisses Clary (aka his sister) (eww) and then second he is after Jace and well third...there is a huge reason but i don't want to say just in case of, you know, spoilers and then people freak out. But man do i hate him! >.< !

So this was my Someone Special Saturday! Who is yours ! leave links in the comments so I can check out your blogs and follow them as well :D

Review of I Can't Keep My Own Secrets

I Can't Keep My Own Secrets: Six-Word Memoirs by Teens Famous & Obscure

One life. Six words. What's yours?
True tales of love, loss, good friends, and bad hair days filled Not Quite What I Was Planning, the New York Times bestselling first book in the Six-Word Memoir series—and an international phenomenon. Some of the most compelling were by teens, so now SMITH Magazine has compiled a book written entirely by these bold, brash truth-tellers. From cancer to creativity, prom dates to promiscuity, and breaking hearts to breaking laws, the memoirs in this collection reveal that often the youngest writers have the most fascinating stories to tell.:
Met online; love before first sight.
Hair's pink to piss you off.
I fulfilled my awkwardness quota today.
I'm seventeen, engaged, and not pregnant.
My mom had my boyfriend deported.
Late for school every single day.
According to Facebook, we broke up.

I had a lot of fun reading this! It's a quick read into the mind of teenagers. The book itself is 182 pages and some pages only have 6 words. The 6 word memoirs are actually a lot deeper than one would imagine. This is the type of book that has no connected plot, but each teens six words tells a story no one else can recreate. Those six words, contain life, characters, emotions which you can find in a book that is 300 pages.

This is the type of book I can not actually rate on articulation because, it is a book of ones life story, and really because each story is 6 words, there is nothing you can critique upon that. Though I can say there are many memoirs you can relate to in the book, there is a memoir for us all. There are the sad touchy feely ones, then there are the funny ones. It was a quick read (literally 15 minutes max). If you ever have time this a great book to pick up!

and now here is my memoir !
Living, Dreaming, Reading will become Success.

~ Put your own memoirs on your blog ! Or in the comments below ! :D
